Marine Protected Areas
A marine protected area is an internationally recognized area of ocean (or of land and ocean combined) where human activities such as tourism, development and fishing are managed to ensure sustainability.
“I am most proud of the fact that my images are educating folks who don’t have the opportunity to go into the ocean . . . . I am showing them what we are protecting, that it’s not just a bunch of sand out there or lifeless rocky reefs.”
